2024 Fire Police Person of the Year

Introduction
It is with great excitement that the PA Fire Police Association announces Brian L. Fenerty from East Pennsboro Fire Police as the 2024 Fire Police Person of the Year! Brian was nominated by the Cumberland County Fire Police Association for his outstanding contributions and leadership.
Brian L. Fenerty
Brian has been the Fire Police Captain for East Pennsboro Township since 2013, and has served as an Assistant Chief for the Cumberland County Special Emergency Response Team (SPERT) since 2015.
In addition to his leadership within his own organization, Brian went above and beyond to assist other units in 2024. For the third year in a row, he facilitated Cumberland County’s Fire Police Training series, successfully securing instructors, locations, and managing the registration and funding for classes. Through his work with local businesses, he was able to get donations to help defer the costs of the seven months of classes. The program, originally for Cumberland County, reached 99 students from multiple counties, including Dauphin, York, Perry, Juniana, Montgomery, and Berks.
Brian's expertise in incident management has also been recognized by outside agencies. He assisted the Mechanicsburg Police Chief with traffic control for both Jubilee Day and the Halloween Parade. He also successfully coordinated traffic control units during several highway closures as Chief 801 for SPERT.
The Cumberland County Fire Police Association described Brian as a well-respected leader with the ability to manage chaotic traffic situations efficiently. His dedication to ensuring others can get training has helped to increase capabilities across the entire region. The Cumberland County Association proudly recommends Brian for this well-deserved recognition and award.
