PA Fire Police Committees 2026

The Pennsylvania Fire Police are gearing up for the 2026 convention and bi-monthly meetings. To ensure everything runs smoothly, specific committee members have been requested. Check them out below. 

 

Convention and Bi – Monthly Meetings

Duties 

     Responsible for contacting the Hosting County / Company hosting the convention and /or Bi-monthly meeting to ensure that they know exactly what is needed for meeting.

• Meeting room with Ample space for meeting ( 50 )
• Head Table or tables to seat 8 people facing the room
• 2 8’ tables with 2 chairs in meeting room for store.
• 1 8’ table and 2 chairs by door for registration.
• 1 8’ table and a chair for zoom Tech either left or right of head table with access to power.
• Wifi and password available for zoom.
• PA system preferred if available.
• Separate meeting space for Executive Board to meet (12) at 1030
• Doors open at 930
• Meal at Noon  ( supplied by Host )  $500.00 reimbursement
• Meeting at 1300

By Laws Committee

Duties 

            It is the responsibility of this committee to revue our bylaws annually and bring forth any changes to the bylaws to keep us up to date to the Association. Receive any written request for bylaw changes, research and bring forth to the executive board and then the association for a vote. Make copies of the bylaws available to our members.

Publicity / Website / Facebook Committee 

Duties

It will be the job of this committee to keep the information on the website up to date with our webmasters, keep the Face book page up to date. It will be the job to publish a newsletter / newspaper to keep members informed.

Duties

It will be the job of these individuals to represent the association at the meetings via in person or zoom. ( reimbursement per the bylaws). Make a report back to the association at the bi-monthly meetings.

Duties

It is the responsibility of this committee to promote the association to bolster new members through the county associations and to retain members. Also to promote Fire  Police recruitment in General.

Registration Committee

Duties 

It is the job of this committee to keep an accurate account of members and guests present at each meeting and the counties they represent. Make appropriate report at the meeting and supply a copy to the Secretary.

Training Committee (Internal)

Duties

It is the responsibility of this committee to host a short training session at each meeting, with a topic relevant to Fire Police. As well as receive and post training announcements to social media and website.

Training Committee ( External )

Duties

It is the job of this committee To establish where training is needed, and to help  set up training. Establish training weekends , line up host area , classes and all other aspects of the training weekend. Work within a budget set by the association. Supply a plan to the president so he can seek a training grant and then furnish a report after the completion of training.

Finance Committee

Duties

It  is the job of this committee to advise on best financial practices. ie investments , dues, grants , death benefits.

Be the signers on the checking accounts. To be appointed from members of the executive board to include the Treasurer and assistant Treasurer and 2 others.

Audit Committee

Duties

It is the job of this committee to Audit the Association Books for the previous year in January and to make a report to the executive board and the Association  at the March meeting. This should be a comprehensive audit to include all accounts of the association.

Fire Police Reporting Committee

Duties

Receive Fire Police Reports from the counties, compile the information into a report that is sent to the Pa. Fire Commissioners office and reported at the association meetings with a copy given to the Secretary to be include in the Association minutes.

Duties

It is the job of this committee to maintain an active zoom account and to be responsible for hosting the meetings on zoom. Further more it is there job to maintain the AV equipment ie: TV, cameras, PA system and microphones.
